Sunfolio Terms of Use

These terms apply when you download or use Sunfolio, an Android app made by JC Studio ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please uninstall the app.
What Sunfolio does
Sunfolio finds the documents on your phone and opens them for reading: PDF files, Word files (.docx), text files and images. Its PDF tools turn pictures or scanned pages into PDFs, merge, split and compress PDFs, rotate, reorder or delete pages, and add or remove a PDF password. It works on your phone, without an account and without uploading your documents. Word files are shown in a reading view, so their layout can differ from Microsoft Word. Some file types (such as Excel, PowerPoint and older .doc files) can be listed but are opened with another app.
Your documents
Your documents stay yours and stay on your phone. When you rename, delete or share a document in Sunfolio, the app does it on your phone at your request. A deleted file cannot be recovered by Sunfolio, so check before you confirm. Use Sunfolio only with documents you have the right to open.
What it can and can't do
Sunfolio tries to open damaged, unusual or password-protected files, but it cannot promise that every file opens, that every file looks exactly as in the app that created it, or that search finds every word (for example in scanned pages, which contain pictures rather than text). Don't rely on it where a wrong or missing page could cause harm.
The PDF tools save their result as a new file and leave your original as it was, so check the result before you delete the original. Compressing a PDF can lower the quality of its pictures. If you forget a password you set on a PDF, Sunfolio cannot recover it.
Privacy
How Sunfolio handles data is explained in the Privacy Policy. In short, your documents never leave your phone through Sunfolio.
Updates and changes
We may update the app, add or remove features, or stop offering it. We may also change these terms. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or on this page. If you keep using Sunfolio after a change, the new terms apply.
No warranty
Sunfolio is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. This includes any warranty that the app will be error-free, always available, or able to open a particular file.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost or damaged files or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Sunfolio. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Google Play
If you got Sunfolio from Google Play, Google Play's own terms also apply to the download. Google is not responsible for the app.
