BuddyFind Terms of Use

These terms apply when you download or use BuddyFind, an Android app made by JC Studio ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please uninstall the app.
What BuddyFind does
BuddyFind listens for Bluetooth signals to help you find your own earbuds, headphones, watches, trackers and similar devices, and shows their battery levels. It estimates how close a device is from its signal strength. It does not use GPS or show a location on a map.
Use it for your own devices
Use BuddyFind only to find devices you own, or devices you have the owner's permission to find. Do not use it to follow, watch or locate another person, or to find someone else's belongings without their consent. Doing so may be against the law where you live, and it is against these terms.
What it can and can't do
BuddyFind can only hear a device that is switched on, has battery and is sending a Bluetooth signal. It usually can't hear earbuds inside a closed case. Bluetooth reaches about a room to a floor, and walls, bodies and other radio signals change the reading. Battery levels come from the device itself, and some devices don't share them.
Because of this, BuddyFind can't promise that it will find a device, that a reading is exact, or that a low-battery alert will arrive before a device runs out. Don't rely on it where losing a device could cause harm, such as for medical devices or for safety.
Your phone and your devices
You are responsible for your phone, your Bluetooth devices and the permissions you give the app. BuddyFind only reads what Android shares with it, and "Play sound" only plays a beep through your phone's current audio output.
Privacy
How BuddyFind handles data is explained in the Privacy Policy. In short, your saved devices and settings stay on your phone.
Updates and changes
We may update the app, add or remove features, or stop offering it. We may also change these terms. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or on this page. If you keep using BuddyFind after a change, the new terms apply.
No warranty
BuddyFind is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. This includes any warranty that the app will be error-free, always available, or able to find a particular device.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any lost, stolen or damaged device, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of BuddyFind. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Google Play
If you got BuddyFind from Google Play, Google Play's own terms also apply to the download. Google is not responsible for the app.
